Default Where to meet Japanese people?

I was wondering where all the Japanese people in NOVA/DC hang out or are? I'm really interested in meeting Japanese people. Any ideas on how I can meet some? I know about meetup.com so something better would be great.

I don't know off hand, but I'd guess the embassy in DC would have some great suggestions.

Check out the Japan-America Society: Welcome to JASWDC Website . I'm not personally familiar with it, but I have an Italian friend who met many other Italians in the DC metro area through the Italian-American equivalent.

Try the Japanese Christian Community Center on Rockville Pike. It's located in a strip shopping center with three Japanese stores, Taiga books, Maruichi, and Temari cafe.

A Japanese friend in MD told me there are about 1000 total Japanese people in the entire DC area. Might be hard to meet them all.

Good advice; take advantage of being close to an Embassy from your own country.
