Hello everyone--
We are moving to the Oakton/Vienna area and I was curious if anyone knew of a good mothers day out program?
I don't need full time childcare, just something a few days a week for my 2 girls when I am taking classes at the college.

Please let me know if you have heard of anything.

TIA--
Stacey

Vienna Baptist has a program for children as young as 3 months - it is 9:30-1:30 but they are a bit expensive and you have to co-oop. Andrews Chapel (usually a waiting list and not sure of age limit) and Fairfax Circle Baptist also have Mother's Day Out (starts at age 1 I believe). Then there are a ton of preschools which take children at age 2 or 2 1/2 and up - Parkwood, Wesley United Methodist, Holy Comforter, Meekins, and others. All of these have a good reputation. Let me know if you have any more questions. They are all in Vienna.

I would recommend Vienna Baptist. It's a great program, and no, it's not religious.

Default MDO programs?

Are these mothers day out programs still recommended? We are relocating to the Falls Church/Vienna area in May. My son will start Kindergarten in the Fall but I would love a Mothers Day Out program for my 2 1/2 yr old.

I stand by all of my earlier recommendations in Vienna. Let me know if you have specific questions. We've used 3 of the above schools, and my friends have used some of the others. I can give you more details if you want.

Default MDO program

Thank you so much for the response! We are currently trying to find our rental (2 year stay). As soon as we have our perm address, I will be able to map out the programs...
What is the average price for a mothers day out program? I am assuming it will be much more than what we are currently paying here in Tennessee ($130/mo).

Some of these aren't technically Mothers Day Out programs. They are preschools. But for 2 1/2 year olds, you can do 2 mornings a week so it's pretty similar. Parkwood is pretty inexpensive. Two mornings per week is $142 per month - child needs to be potty-trained. Wesley is currently $160 per month for two mornings a week (two-year old class does not need to be potty trained; 3-year old class does). I think it's going to be $165 or $170 next year. Both of the above programs are 3 hours per day. Vienna Baptist is called a Mother's Day Out program and it's a co-op so you have to work in the school (6 times for the two days per week program). It's a 4-hour morning and is much pricier (about $250 per month). Meekins is a co-op too. At both Meekins and Vienna Baptist, child does not have to be potty trained. Not sure of prices for Meekins and Holy Comforter but probably in the $200-range. Hope this helps.

Andrew Chapel was recommended earlier so please don't overlook them. I have both of my kids there (ages 2 and 4)- it;s a great program, supportive teachers- wonderful facilities.. I went to tour all the preschools in Vienna and most in McLean and I am so glad this is where my kids are.
