i am going to be in Chantilly this weekend for a family get together. I decided to take my dog along. i found a dog park within a couple of miles from where i will be so thats great. i also like to take my dog to outdoor malls and wherever she can go and walk with me while my wife looks in stores. im not sure what kind of time ill have to visit places but i wanted to be prepared with a few options. any recommendations would be appreciated.

She's gorgeous bro. Husky or Mal?

If you have any time, a trip up to great falls might be fun. There's plenty of hiking up there, and if the weather's good, it could be very enjoyable for both dog and owner!

This isn't really near Chantilly, but dogs love the main trail in Seneca Park. This is a large park near the border of Fairfax and Loudoun counties. The park is at the end of Seneca Road. You'll see the cars parked there, and the trail head is clearly marked with a large stick fence (a home-made job built by boy scouts). It leads to the Doggie Splash, a wonderful little inlet off the Potomac that dogs like to play in. It has mild rapids but is safe. You are very likely to see people there with dogs. It's also a very pretty hike to the Doggie Splash, about 1/2 mile.

Bring towels, your dog will get very wet.

Wow, what a beautiful dog. Think there is a dog park somewhere up in Herndon, but not sure where. That is not far from Chantilly (just north of it by a few miles). Maybe someone else will post where it is.

You mean the dog park in Reston? Its at the corner of Baron Cameron and Wiehle. Nice place, dogs seem to really enjoy it.
