In 2010 my AAA trash bin broke at the bottom (during a scheduled pickup), with a crack big enough that small animals could have gotten in. I was afraid to put heavy things in for fear the whole thing would break apart. I called AAA four times to have them replace it, with no results. So I cancelled their service and switched to American. After I cancelled, AAA finally picked up their broken bin, and then wanted to charge me $45 for "reconditioning" it, even thought there was no way that bin could have been "reconditioned". There were some heated words on the phone, they said they'd see me in court, and I told them I looked forward to it. Never heard back.

I had been with AAA about a decade, during which time there were numerous missed pickups (at least one per billing quarter). I've been with American for four years now without a single missed pickup. And they're cheaper too.

What are AAA, American Disposal, or other company charging you? We had AAA for a couple years and hated the frequent price increases (along with the ridiculous attempt to charge us for bin reconditioning that we'd never heard of nor agreed to). We've had American the past several years. Their price initially was a lot cheaper than AAA, but they've gradually raised their rate to $97/qtr. Never had a service problem with either, but am wondering if the price is reasonable compared to what others are currently charged.

Been with American for just over a year now. My charge has been $34/month. Recently got a letter saying they were raising the price to $36/month. Called AAA, and the price would have been cheaper for the first two years - I don't remember the exact numbers. Called American and said if they didn't raise my price, I'd stick with them. They agreed and so I'm staying at $34/month and staying with American.
