I sincerely doubt that there is a dime's worth of difference between the faculties of Fairfax HS and Woodson or Robinson. Sure, you see differences in test scores, but I consider it a huge mistake to assume that this is due to the faculty. The differences are far more likely due to student characteristics.

Schools like Woodson, Langley, and TJ are filled with kids whose parents are scientists, engineers, doctors, lawyers, etc. Generally speaking, it is predictable that they will do better on their SATs than kids whose parents are of more modest intellectual accomplishment.
All very true.

For the same money, I would take the WTW neighborhood. IF I found a great deal in Fairfax; I would do it.

Hey all! Thanks a lot! We went to a few open houses today and overall, did not care for any of the homes in the St. Leo's boundaries. They were all from 425-459, and not in very good shape, so I guess that answers our question! We drove around Canterbury Woods and Springbrook Forest and liked those neighborhoods a great deal. Also liked Kings Park West and saw some homes in there which were more updated and better card for. So, looks like I'll be talking to our Pastor about registering as parishoners! Thank you for your input!
