Police Warn Seniors of "Phony" Callers*- Fairfax County, Virginia
This activity was going on where my parents live on the Central Coast of California (San Luis Obispo/Santa Barbara counties) a few months ago. My mom got a phone call from a young man who claimed to be her grandson and asked for money. It seemed like a few teens or young adults got a hold of their retired group directory and was calling people from the list. Unfortunately, some people did give money, thinking it was a grandchild they had not heard from in a while. So sad.
Stay aware, informed, and safe! If you have an older neighbor, please let them know.
