Default Suggestions for driving from Leesburg (right off rt50) to Arlington?

First and foremost, I'm still pretty new to the area (only been here a year) and I just recently moved out to Leesburg. The lady has also now moved up to the area (for 6 weeks) but is staying with friends in Arlington so that she doesn't have to commute far.

However, in the event that her and I want to stay at my place one or two nights during the week, I'd like to know the best way for her to get back to Arlington on a weekday morning.

I know that when she left this morning at 6:30am that she took 15 south to 66 and went in on 66 (which is a problem in itself because of the HOV2 restriction). The other issue with this route is that it took 2 hours.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Update:

Did some looking around on Google Maps. Perhaps she can take 15 south until it turns into 29 and then take 29N and go in that way. Any thoughts on this?

29 at 15 going Northbound is not a very wise decision because of traffic and lights. Stick to the highways. You can always try the Loudoun County Transit

That's going to be a long hike any way you cut it. If speed is your main concern, the toll road might be your best bet. Take the toll road to 495, head north to the GW Parkway, and take that to Arlington.

If you're not keen on tolls, I think Rt 7 doesn't get unbearable until the Reston area. So you could take 7 -> Georgetown Pike -> Beltway -> GW Parkway.

Instaed of rt7...take Evergreen mill, to Shrieve, to Sycolin to Waxpool,(or riverside pky to claiborne to ashford farm to waxpool) to 28 then hop up on the toll.
the toll (267) is cheap after 28 (25-50cents) then go 66 into Arlington. or take the toll to 495and Take GW Pky into Arlington.

Since it's not an everyday ordeal...I'd take the TOLL and buck up the $4 bucks!

Why do you mention RT 50? that's not close to Leesburg?

I can tell you even on the weekend when I would go from Leesburg over to Ft Meyer area it would take about an hour.
