BTW, I have to amend a post I made earlier. I found out last night that sugar ants do have wings for a very short time in late spring/early summer. It's part of their reproductive cycle. Right after a heavy rain, you may see a whole bunch of winged ants that are just innocent little house ants in the mood for love. They have an orgy, then the males die with a smile on their face. The females go off to start new colonies.
So if you find winged ant-like insects and they're tiny like sugar ants, go online and look at the comparison pictures of different insects before you panic about having something that's eating your house.

I've seen those little bitty ants everywhere! They are annoying! Every time I see them, I have the same reaction. First, I jump and move away really quickly. Then, I remember that I'm not in Mississippi anymore, and they are not fire ants and I am not about to get eaten alive.
If you've ever lived in the deep south, you can appreciate that story. At least those little tiny ants up here don't try to eat you.

For a while I had live ants in my shower of all places. Now I'm finding tons of dead ants around the base of the french doors leading to my deck, and around the top step, where it meets the siding on the front of my house. Since they're dying on their own, I only have to clean them up, but the number I'm vacuuming up is alarming.

buy a can of gasoline..... go to each ant hill near your house, put a stick down in it as far as it will go, pour in a little gas, and light those ants on fire..... then spray your house again.
if that doesn't work then you may want to call a pest control company

Have you ever tasted a little black ant? They taste just like blue cheese. Not pleasant, expecially if they crawl into your soda can when you are not looking.

I must thank you all for that Terro tip!! You are correct about the marching to the baits...it was like a conga line They are all gone now, after one day of putting the traps out. Raid doesn't even compete with this stuff...

I learned about Terro from my Florida friends. I figured if anyone would know how to get rid of ants, it would be them!
