Default Things to Do in NOVA/DC

Can anyone recommend a listserv or email list to join to learn about events happening in DC/NOVA. I would like to find a couple of general ones as I have interest in theater, festivals, etc. It seems like I hear about great events after they have already passed.

I'm sure there are others, but the two cultural/theater listservs I know about are:
Cultural Tourism DC - Home
Events in Washington | Goldstar

Based on your user name, I'm guessing you are a mom. So I suggest both the DC Urban Moms list (which is an email listserv) as well as the forum they have on their dcurbanmom (without the "s") on their web site. I also recommend the subscription-based email newsletter called Our Kids which is $24 a year for a weekly email newsletter plus an online database of area events.

There's a weekend guide in the Washington Post that's printed every Friday with good events.
