Uhaul Is My Friend is on a distinguished road
Having just moved here, I too was disappointed that NOT A SINGLE Whole Foods carried bulk herbs, spices or even seeds for sprouting. So far, the only store I have found that carries grains, nuts, flours, herbs, spices and seeds in bulk is the co-op in Bethesda. (I just got off the phone with them to verify before driving out...hehe)

So yea, I will soon be sprouting at home again to answer the question about who is sprouting at home!

Default Sprouting

Yeah, as far as I know, Whole Foods here has NEVER sold bulk herbs. Just FYI, Healthway healthfood stores sells sprouting seeds, esp. broccoli seeds.
Once I learned about sprouting this year, I'm determined to eat them regularly since the mineral content is so incredibly high compared to the actual vegetable. Do you sprout alfalfa & broccoli, or others as well--pray tell.

Hope you like it here...One thing's for sure, it won't be as cold as Ann Arbor.

Uhaul - I can sympathize, having come here just a few years ago from another really crunchy Midwestern college town. If you're vegan, the Vegan Store/Pangea in Rockville is really wonderful. (The retail space is only open on Saturdays, though - most of their business is mail-order). In the way of food, they mostly carry just fake meaty stuff, though. But it's the only place around here I've been able to find the large Tribal Strips (veg jerky), or the Primal Strips shiitakes (yes, seasoned, chewy shiitakes functioning as fake meat). Their web site is:

:: Vegan Store.com - Pangea Vegan Products. The Best in Vegan Shopping.
