Post Tysons Corner apartments
Hi, I'm moving into Post on August 1. Worried about the construction nearby, does anyone know when the 3rd loft building will start construction? That's all I need is to escape noisy Los Angeles to move into noisy Tysons Corner
Also, I've heard a lot about the parking lot being unsafe in this complex and the apartment walls being thin. Does anyone live there (or has lived there) that can tell me more about this place?
Thanks for your help!

Unfortunately the ENTIRETY of Tyson's Corner is going to be under construction indefinitely as Fairfax County aggressively tries to "correct" past urban design flaws with this part of McLean. The Metrorail construction is only the beginning of what will be much more construction in the years to come. I work in a high-rise along Greensboro Drive in Tyson's, and I'm already dreading what my commutes from Reston will be like in the coming years.
You may wish to check out this link for detailed information on the "new" Tyson's Corner, coming in phases over the next numerous years. Much of Fairfax County is slated to undergo massive high-density transformation in the coming years to accommodate the anticipated influx of newcomers to NoVA. Reston is also an area expected to hit a major boom, which is why we're now currently drafting up a new master plan to handle that growth responsibly.

On the left is an existing sub-region of Tyson's. On the right is what the majority of Tyson's will soon resemble. I'm actually excited about the Manhattan-like end product!

CAtoVirginia: Where in the complex will you be located? It may not impact you much. The builders don't work on the building until 7:30 a.m. and have to stop by 5 p.m. I currently live in the condos part of the development (Fountains at McLean) and there is minimal neighbor noise. FAM was built at the same time, same builder, so the infrastructure is the same. Maybe I have quiet neighbors, but it's not bad. I'm moving in a few months -- finally bought a place -- but would definitely live here again if needed.
There were some car break-ins a while back. Mostly petty thieves looking for GPS units and small electronics. I lived in a very nice neighborhood in Reston and the same thing happened there, too. A band of thieves went through the neighborhood and hit 10 cars. I leave my car on the lot here and have not had problems. It's like everywhere else -- don't leave visible valuables, etc. You'll be fine at Post. It's a good place to be. Best of luck!

Thank you all so much for your replies. I'm feeling better about this. I'm coming from a VERY noisy, heavily trafficked area of Los Angeles, so I think I can deal with the construction. And my commute to work is less than a mile. Thank you for taking the time to respond to me
Austin, we'll be in 1525 directly facing the new loft area. That's why I'm worried about the construction, do they work Saturdays as well? 7:30 - 5 is fine with me if it's during the weekdays.
