Default Buying a house in Fredericksburg vs. Woodbridge

Hi,

I recently moved to Fredericksburg where my workplace is.
Since Woodbridge is just 30 miles away, I'm also considering Woodbridge area for my home.

1. I'm thinking the price range of 25k-35k. Is it decent?
2. Which area is better for investment? especially, which community? Definitely it will be my primary residence.
3. I found most homes are SFH in Fredericksburg, but TH in Woodbridge. Does it make a difference in resale value?
4. Please recommend a experienced realtor.
5. Or recommend any other area?

Thanks in advance

Did you mean a price range of 250k-350k? 25k-35k won't buy you much in either of those locales.

Why would you want to live 30 miles away from work, when you can live in the same city? Living in Woodbridge isn't getting you anything that you can't get in Fredricksburg if you ask me.

It depends on what neighborhood you're looking, but there are plenty of SFH in Woodbridge. I prefer living in SFH because I value my privacy and don't like sharing walls with others. If you don't like yard work though, then a TH is probably better for you.

The reason why I consider Woodbridge area is some people said housing market in Fredericksburg was some slow. Just in case I sell a property.

Also I prefer newer homes. any suggestion in Fredericksburg area?

Thanks for the advice.

I'd love to live in downtown Fredericksburg in a rehabbed 18th-century home. But that's just me.

My advice is to stay in Fredericksburg. Be one of the few people in the area who has a short commute to work. I used to know people who worked in DC and commuted from Fredericksburg.

I would still buy in Fredericksburg if I were you. You can normally get "more house" living further south. BRAC will bring more jobs to Quantico so reselling in the future shouldn't be any more difficult than Woodbridge. Lots of people also commute from Fredericksburg into DC.
