I'm not familiar with the VA Busch Gardens but if it's anything like FL it's tons of fun. There are a lot of exibits with animals which is why I love to go. They have other rides but mainly roller coasters. I'm sure you can check out their official website and find out more details.

I'm leaning towards Busch Gardens now, based on what I've read on the internet and your comments .

We all have been to Disney in FL and we loved it, is Busch Gardens that good too?
I'd do Busch Gardens in a heartbeat over KD. I've done BG in a day also (I am about 2.5 hours from there).

BG in VA is a bit different than the Florida one in that it is very European. As far as I know, there are no animal exhibits.

It is always rated one of the most beautiful parks. Very good landscaping and greenery there. Very clean. Staff is friendly.

Yea, as I said earlier, I think Busch Gardens is a good choice because it has offerings for thrill-seeking coaster-lovers as well as those who may not enjoy them as much. On top of that, Busch Gardens is just an over-all more attractive park. King's Dominion sort of just looks like a bunch of roller coasters in a parking lot. LOL.

The last time I checked (2 days ago) BG had some very nice deals going on. One deal allowed adults to get tickets at children's prices. Another one that I liked is the Fun Card for Virginia Residents. You get unlimited access to the park for regular adult ticket prices through the first week of September. It may not be worth it for you, but for anyone who plans to go more than one time, its definitely a deal.

I would go to HersheyPark if you are in Leesburg. I think you'd avoid a lot of the traffic and it's certainly closer than Busch Gardens. Both are nice, though.

Oh, you are NOT kidding. I was on I-95 at 3:15. I got on I-95 south at teh Occoquan and went down to the Dale City exit. Took me almost 30 minutes to go two exits. When I got to my exit, it was totally gridlocked just past there. I felt sorry for all those travelers.

Busch Gardens puts KD to shame. KD has gone downhill over the years and it also draws gang members. They don't over run the place but they are there. BG has more shows and stuff and is just a better park overall. And I'd avoind I 95 at all costs. More than one way to get there.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions, we went to Busch gardens and had a blast :-D
The only thing that affected our excitement was that we lost our camera and so lost all our pictures We filled out a form at Lost & Found, hopefully someone has turned it in.
