That's why it should be Washington National - named after George Washington - like it originally was.

Yeah, I still call it National or DCA. But then, when I refer to the Cabin John bridge - instead of "American Legion Bridge" which still just sounds strange to me - I get blank stares so what do I know. Maybe it's all just a handy way to figure out who the natives are!

Actually if you think about it, reagan National is quite appropriately named because like his presdency, reagan national is one of the most inept amd inefficiently run airports in the country

Really? FWIW, I absolutely love flying out of Reagan/National. I've yet to have one bad experience in that airport (unlike BWI... grrrr), and I love that they (used to, at least) provide disposable surgical booties at security so you didn't have to walk around in your stocking/bare feet on the yucky airport floor. Generally speaking, though, I much, much, much prefer to fly out of small airports, as long as I'm flying into a big one (to as to decrease the odds that I'll have a fouled-up layover).

Thanks

Well, this is actually good news! Good that I can also call it 'National' or 'Washington', rather than 'Reagan'.

When did the name change?

What a dishonor to George Washington though to tack some controversial President's name in front of his own.

What's next, 'Bush Washington DC'?

I fly from Washington National every Monday and fly back in every Friday...I called it Reagan once to a cab driver and he said you mean National?

My husband on the other hand says to me are you flying from "in town" or Dullas?
