He should have taken that private arms gig, and started his own company.

National. And I'm another Cabin John person, too. I've really tried to say American Legion, as I use that bridge all the time and always confuse the new people when I say Cabin John, but it just doesn't process in my brain. I even get momentarily confused when I hear traffic reports about the American Legion. My brain's all, "Whaaa?!? Where's that?" for a couple of seconds.

Default National Airport

I'm sort of an old-timer, so I use "National". I remember when the name was forced on us by the Republicans in Congress, and I still resent the way it was done. Let's face it, Reagan was not liked in DC, nor was he from the area---he hated Washington and everything it stood for, and the District returned the favor. Naming the airport after him is like naming Miami International after Fidel Castro. I say get rid of it---it never made sense. It was already named after a president who grew up in the area. Congress is not supposed to be in the business of naming airports anyway, that's the task of the local airport authority.

I loved Reagan too, but Congress forcing this on the locals was wrong. It is actually a dishonor in my opinion.

The Airline Boards in terminals announcing flight arrivals and departures call it just "Reagan" Airport.

I call it National Airport.

Does anyone call BWI Marshall International Airport just "Marshall" for short?

I call it National Airport. BWI is the airport in Baltimore. Cabin John is the proper name for the bridge. And yes, PSINet Stadium was the dopiest name for a stadium ever. So glad they dropped that awful name.

I call the airport near Baltimore "BWI." I also don't know anyone who calls Newark "Newark/Liberty International."

Out of towners all say Reagan, but I still say National, so it gets confusing when discussing their travel plans. I was a big fan of Reagan as a President, but the two names compete too closely with one another. This is very different from "Liberty" and "Marshall", which were token re-namings because everyone still calls them Newark and BWI. They need to pick one of the names and have that be the end of it.

If they don't, wouldn't surprise me to see the use of "DCA" continue to rise, much as SFO and LAX are used in California.
