Yeah I might let the walking distance to the orange line go. What I would look at is on a good bus line to the orange line. For example, where I'm at in Oakton is not walking distance to the orange line but it is a 5-10 minute ride to the Vienna metro. I think it takes about an hour door to door to get into the city. I saw a 2 bedroom condo for $250K and a townhouse for $280K on that busline. So look at areas near the metro, then go to wmata.com to see what buses are available in that neighborhood and time how long it would take to get to work and just see what works for you.

Living walking distance to the orange line is what everyone wants. Shucks I don't even take the metro to work and wouldn't mind living near the orange line just for the weekends. So because so many want to live there and quite frankly outside Arlington there aren't a lot of housing options walking distance, it's going to be expensive. Although I agree you could find a rental for $2K that's walking distance though.

Sorry the links were expired in the post katarinakeren referred to above. I updated them all today and they now show the current properties for sale withing a mile of each metro station in Northern Virginia.

Oops sorry I didn't realize the links weren't working. But now that they are fixed, surely they can help Fantasticx find something w/in reasonable walking distance to the orange line
