It's official. The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors have approved the 5,500 seat minor league stadium on the Kincora property (near the intersection of Rt. 28 and Rt. 7).

If all goes as expected, the first game will be opening day, 2011. You can bet I'll be there!

that's cool. I hope to buy season tickets when they become available. I wont ever go to a Nats game again.

What cracked me up was that the final arguments against this project were about fireworks! People complained that fireworks shot off during a game might set dogs barking and "we have children trying to sleep in nearby neighbohoods." Give me a break, people have been shooting fireworks ever since the middle of June. I think most kids have learned how to sleep through it.

Anyway, they decided it by saying fireworks cannot be shot off at the ballpark during weeknights. And once that weighty issue was decided, the park was approved.

This is great. I love watching minor league ball. It's just like going to smaller, neighborhood games, and the atmosphere is usually much more relaxed and fun.

LOL...and yet Richmond is still arguing about ours.

Congratulations! That whole development looks promising.

We'll go! We love going to games almost anywhere, but really don't like, and have stopped going to see the Potomac Nats. Looking forward to the new park in Loudoun.

Woo hoo! I totally agree, minor league games are so much more fun than the big leagues. Driving there will definitely be more fun. And there's a Wegman's practically next door, now that's my idea of a good spot for a ball park!

The Nats are moving to Northern VA evidently. What other minor league team would be moving into that stadium?
