Default NOVA Critters

Anyone have photos of deer in their yard? Or foxes? Bunnies, butterflies, bobcats?

Snakes or drakes or a raccoon eating a cake?

It might be fun to see some candid shots of our local critters.

How about a gibbon? I'd have to hunt for the photo - it was a pet that was wandering loose in Arlington when I lived there. I also had raccoons living in the basement unknown to me, until I started finding them on the main floor at night, eating the cat food.

I've seen a fox in Park Fairfax, and a possum and plenty of rabbits in Alexandria city.

OMG, the reminds me I have a photo somewhere of that black bear and cub that were wandering around Lake Anne a few years ago. I'll have to look for it. Otherwise my photos are of the more typical mundane critters (deer, butterflies) but on Monday I'll look through them and see if any are worth posting.

Great thread idea, BTW!

There are some bobcats and foxes near where I live in Reston/Herndon. When I was jogging at 7 am several weeks ago, I came across a fox stalking the ducks at the Sallie Mae pond. As I was jogging through one of the parks, I came across this sound as I came nearer to a dense part of the forest where the trees had fallen down.

Bobcat sounds
