Default good vet in Springfield/Burke?

We're getting a dog on Friday (!) and was wondering if anyone had a vet recommendation in the Springfield/Burke area?

We have had good experiences with Parkway Veterinary Clinic - Burke, VA . They are easily accessible when I have questions or need to make a same-day appointment and showed an incredible amount of compassion when one of my dogs passed away last year.

I had a bad experience with Parkway Vet - the vet tramatized my puppy so bad when he trimmed his nails -to this day I have to have her medicated to get her nails trimmed.
- and someone I know boarded their dog there and the dog was returned with urine burns.
They might have good vets and treatment there now - I am talking 3 years ago. And others might have had a good experince there - I am just stating my personal experience.

I like Town and County Vet in Fairfax - the county uses them and their prices are very reasonable compared to other vets in the area. Pender vet in Fairfax is also good.

We like Columbia Pike Animal Hospital in Annandale. We see Dr. Reed Hall. They have extended hours (open at 7 am I believe, and I know we have been there as late as 8 pm at night) and their prices are reasonable.

We moved here a little over a month ago and have used Town and Country for our beagles. They stayed over in the kennel when we were out of town last week and they LOVED it. The staff was great and the report back was that our dogs are more than welcomed to come and visit again (whew!) They have been very accommodating of our elder beagle's medical needs as well.

movingtodc - I believe you - I am just reporting my experience - what happened to me might have been a fluke.

I love Dr. Reed Hall - I see him at Town & Country - he must go to Columbia Pike also - I guess you see the Father - there are two Reed Halls - Father and Son.

We see the son. He's a friend of one of my colleagues at work, who's wife is a veterinarian in Ballston.

I like him - I have very large dogs that resemble very large pitbulls though they are a differnet breed entirely - and Dr. Hall shows no breed discrimination like a lot of other vets do - his manner is so calm he was able to trim the nails of the dog that has a nail trimming phobia by just giving her a calming medication whereas other vets insisted they had to knock her out completely.
