Thank you everyone for replying. I went to Brambleton yesterday and fell in love with the place. I did check out South Riding and Stone Ridge. I like the fact that Brambleton is more private and secluded. Looks like I'll be buying in Brambleton.

Yesterday VtoN and I took our families to the concert. What a nice evening that turned out to be!

The band was pretty good (although stretching it a bit to call it a "Dave Matthews" type of a band). But they were better than most bands who play at community concerts. The shopping plaza has a little outdoor ampitheater for these concerts, and it was the perfect setting.

The crowd was mellow and fun to watch. Yet another plus for Brambleton--the people who live there seem friendly and sociable. It seemed like everyone knew each other, so there was quite a bit of socializing and people stopping to say hello. Verizon donated a bunch of plastic beach balls, and the kids were batting these around. That was entertaining.

This turned out to be a great way to spend a Thursday evening--and best of all it was free. Considering how many people we had in our group, that becomes an important consideration. We're definitely going to do this again.

normie and FromVAtoNC - I'm glad you guys liked it. Upcoming concerts are:

August 13th - "The Reflex," an 80s band (80s costume contest too!)
August 20th - "DC/U2: The Nation's Capitol U2 Cover Band"
August 27th - "JunkFood" - alternative covers

smcwills - I think you'll be happy here!

Yes, thanks for telling us about it. I think I'll try that U2 tribute band. The 80s costume contest sounds like fun, too.

That's a nice shopping center. We took coolers last night, but next time we go I think we'll eat at the Blue Ridge Grill (or maybe whatever's going into that big space next to the movie theaters.)

The current HOA fee for a regular single-family home in Brambleton is $162.63 ($161.03 for townhouses). That includes FiOS internet and TV service; twice-weekly garbage pickup; two pools; parks, tennis courts, basketball court, trails, tot lots, ponds, and other common areas; and a full slate of community activities.

The fact that that the HOA fees include both your FIOS and cable is pretty sweet. I checked out the community center with the heated pool and it was great! Are they adding more to the town center?
