We keep getting calls from this lady from this outfit regarding a rental property we own in Fairfax County. I can't find any information on the firm. It sounds like one of the cash-for-houses firms that send out cards and letters to property owners whose home address differs from the address of the property of interest. These firms are usually only interested in residential real estate they resell quickly at a discount to market. I'm getting the feeling that she's trying to fish out information for a developer/investor who's wants to assemble land to rezone as commercial mixed-use since this property is already zoned for industrial & office such as appropriate for a warehouse complex.

I have not heard of them, but we get tons of spam offering to buy our rental. I'd say - don't even contact them, it's all very suspicious.

Sounds legitimate. If I were you, I would give her my entire life savings, credit card numbers, bank account numbers and social security numbers.

YOU COULD BE RICH!

I've talked to her again. I think that she's an independent real estate broker/agent. She's calling landowners in hopes of finding out who the likely buyers might be and approaching the developers in the hopes of landing a sales contract. Things must be really rough for agents to work this low probability angle.
