We are all going batty here. It is too cold to play outside. It is too crowded to go downtown. Where in Northern Virginia can the kids (ages 5 & 9) get some unstructured, physical play indoors? They got a little run-around at Fair Oaks Mall when we got our drivers licenses, but that area was really meant for younger kids.

Good idea! Do they have anything to do there other than video games? (I've only been once, more than 20 years ago.)

Kids N Motion in Woodbridge (my daughter's favorite) has open play on weekday mornings. You can also check out the rec centers for open play and swimming. My daughter is younger than your kids, but she also loves Chuck E Cheese. Other than videos/games, the kids can play in the tunnel structure that's elevated.

We go to a place called "Sport Bounce". I think there are several in the area with different names. They're basically bouncy castle places where kids can run and play. We asked for money from relatives for Christmas so we could buy our little one a 10-pass, it's been worth every penny.

Try the Little Gym at Fairfax Corner.

The Little Gym (http://www.thelittlegym.com/gym/default.aspx?gymid=149 - broken link)

Also, you can join the FFX Cty Rec Centers. There's one at Spring Hill and one at Falls Church.

Try the county park service. Claude Moore Recreation Center in Sterling has a rock climbing wall and an indoor pool as an example. Fairfax County must have many activity areas.

Kid Drop Zone

I've been wanting to try this place out, but I haven't had a chance yet.

How about you discipline them like a good parent so they don't have the ya-ya's. You're kid's little ya-ya's will turn into gang-rape and drug violence when they get older.

Waaaaha ha haa. This has totally cheered up my snowy cold day. Did you sit quietly in a corner until you went out to work at 18 then?
