Does anyone know of anyone willing to let an ethical, experienced and mature deer hunter rifle hunt deer in either Loudoun (preferably) or any surrounding counties? I am employed as a professional and have hunted for over 20 years, however, I am having a very difficult time locating deer hunting land in Northern Virginia. I hunted on Wildlife Management Areas last year, but they are very crowded and full of weekend warriors. I am willing to share the harvest with the owner of the land and will provide references upon request. I will be happy to go into greater details and answer any questions if anyone responds to this thread.

Thanks for your assistance.

There's certainly a lot of deer running through my backyard, and I would love to see the deer population move to another area. I know this maybe the result of land development, but it's better to be safe than sorry. Good luck to you.

I would drive around the rural areas of Loudoun county and ask the farmers directly if you can hunt on their land. I grew up on a farm in WV (my sister is still there and allows hunting) and the hunters always approached my dad directly to see if they could hunt on our land. A face to face meeting is best, they will want to size you up to see if you know what you are doing and will check to make sure you are not drinking. He would never let a car load of hunters in. Also, some harvesting is allowed by the county, you will need to make some phone calls to find the proper department.

I had another thought, try the Middleburg Hunt Club and I think there is a Piedmont Hunt Club. They are for fox hunting but they would surely know farmers who will let hunters in, if they let fox hunters ride on their farm they may also let deer hunters in.

Please ask this Christmas Tree farmer in Lovettsville:
Milltown Creek Tree Farms
38757 Householder Rd
Lovettsville, VA 20180-3003

(540) 822-5428‎

Their names are Peggy and Tim Opeka. They have a few hundred acres and there are ALWAYS deer on his property. I saw a doe and fawn there yesterday. A big buck lives there too, along with MANY other deer. Across the street on Householder, corner of Householder and Axline, the house is for sale and they too have LOTS of deer. They also might welcome a deer hunter. I know those of us who live on down the road sure would like a decrease in the number of deer we have to dodge to get to our homes.

It's also horrible when one of the deer jumps out in front of your car and puts your family in danger. Without controlled hunting, the population of deer would be dangerous to the people.

Ditto. I saw a deer jump out on Gallows Road at 5 pm last Friday. Three cars swerved to avoid it and one person was seriously injured due to the crash.
