Default Living in Lorton expensive?

My fiance and I are looking for a place to live around Lorton. It would be nice to find a two bedroom apartment right now but everything looks so expensive. All the 1 bedroom apartments I find online are at least 900 dollars. She's getting a good-paying job and I plan on getting a job when I graduate from college in December with my CIS degree but we don't want to pay too much a month because we have a wedding to pay for that's next August. Is there a place close to Lorton that's cheaper? Or should I look for apartments in a different way? Any info would be great. Thank you

Jeff

$900/month is a pretty reasonable sum of money to pay around here for a 1BR or studio. $900 would be low in close-in suburbs like Arlington and Alexandria and more built-up areas like Fairfax. But if you find something under that amount anywhere here, that's likely not going to be a place you want to live.

Lorton along with Prince William County offers more affordable housing prices than the inner suburbs, but it's still expensive if you are coming from most parts of the country.

Good luck to you!

You're fortunate to find a job in Lorton as it will be relatively easy for you to commute from lower-cost communities across the Occoquan in Prince William County.

As already stated, $900 is actually on the very low end for a typical apartment complex. A popular option to consider would be to rent a basement apartment in a house.

If you happen to be under 30 and like to go out to "happening" spots, be prepared to trek up to Old Town Alexandria or Arlington on the weekends.
