Manassas zip codes
I know this has probably been asked before, I searched but didn't find what I was looking for. We know now that if hubby gets a permanent job we will definately be looking to move to the burbs. I know the zip codes to look for in Woodbridge but couldn't find anything on the zip codes to look for in Manassas that would offer us a safe place to live.
When I go on realtor.com it gives me such a wide variety of areas and I would really like to be able to narrow our seach area. Since we are here for 6 months we would really like to look at least one day on the weekend at all the different areas.

There are lots of new and relatively new developments along the Linton Hall corridor, stretching from Rte28 (Nokesville Rd) all the way to Rte 29 in Gainesville. It's not Manassas proper but very close and a much nicer area than many parts of Manassas depending what you're looking for. Most of it falls under the Bristow zip code, 20136. Good luck.

You can't go by just zip codes. Manassas City is 20110 and there are neighborhoods I wouldn't live in if you paid me and there are neighborhoods that are great. As a matter of fact I live in 20110 and have for over 25 years with no problems. Picking a good neighborhood, regardless of zip code, is the first step.

We lived in 20112 for about 8 years, about 4 miles off of I95 and enjoyed it a lot. It was near Montclair.

Just wanted to second this. We recently moved from Alexandria to Bristow, and we like it out here so much! There's VRE access for commuting, all the necessary shopping (groceries, home improvement/garden, sporting goods, etc.) is right here, and the schools get excellent ratings.
I saw in your previous post that you're heading out this way to go to the Scottish Games this weekend. While you're out here, take the time to drive through Bristow/Gainesville/Haymarket to see what you can see. There are several roads along which housing is concentrated:
If you get off 66 at 29 then turn left at Linton Hall, then you'll be driving through the main part of the Bristow residential areas. There are neighborhoods all along that road. Turn right when you get down to 28 and you'll soon see another development (New Bristow Village) on your left.
Back up to 29, if you go straight at the Linton Hall intersection instead of turning left, then you'll be able to check out the residential developments all along 29.
(BTW, you'll also see a lot of the shopping areas by cruising those two roads.)
There are also some housing developments along Catharpin road. To get there, turn right at the Linton Hall intersection instead of left, onto Gallerher road. Turn right onto Catharpin, and after you cross 66 you'll see residential areas on both the right and left. Not sure if this is considered Haymarket, Gainesville, or something else.
I know there are lots of other housing areas out this way that you could see, but I don't know exactly where they are, and driving these roads would give you a good feel for what's out this way.

This is great place to live
try 20111. the community is fairly new. young couples and right next to Signal Hill Elementary. near the vre and is next a brand new Towncenter on MAnassas Drive. I used to live there and has is rented until OCt. 1st the house will be back on the rental.
Did I mention it is right across the street from Signal Hill park, the park has a tennis court, basketbakk courts , trails, swingset for the kids and a small but cool water park with a lazt river and wading pool for kids 15 or younger.
I love the area and it is safe. They even have a Halloween trail during the seaso and the neighbors REALLY get into the Spirit. Homes have cool decorations and they give out lots of candy.
Well I tlove the area and my neighbors. Everyone is very friendly and lots of kids in the neighborhood.
Good luck! If you need a house let me knw if I still have it in OCT.1.

I just moved into this area and I kind of like it. Could you share more info about the Halloween trail? Where, when, etc.

Manassas is a tricky if you are using Realtor.com. Go to franklymls.com it is a local MLS feed that gives you what is really available. Manassas in terms of real estate is divided into three areas which Realtor.com does not mention. You have homes with a Manassas address which fall under Prince William County, you will find new home areas here and lots of lovely acreage homes built in tha past 20 years priced 300,000+ these will be serviced by Prince William County Schools by the way the zip codes are 20112,20111,20110* ( older section closer to Manassas City) Next there is Manassas Park which is a small area on the north side of Prince William Parkway it has it's own school system and the zip code is 20111. Check out the subdivison Blooms Crossing ( just type the name in Google) which is near Generals Ridge Golf Course it is walking distance to VRE and has condos, town homes and single familys all built in the last 20 years and the schools are all in the community. And finally there is Manassas City typically homes were built over the last 60+ years. Expect a big mix of homes everything from the charming to the not so charming. The zip code here is 20110. Check out the community of Wellington it was built in the late 80's is close by VRE and easy access to shopping etc. The city has it's own school system.
I hope this helps. Good Luck.
