So I saw a bunch of Loudoun's finest at route 7 just when you go under route 28. As you are traveling from Sterling west bound, past Dulles Town Center, the speed limit is 50. You head past an assisted living community on your right and then the road (3 lanes going west bound) goes down a hill and people are traveling at higher speeds because they think the speed limit is now 55 (when it really is still 50) and as they go under route 28 (still staying on 7) the sheriffs department is out there catching people left and right going over 60.

There are a lot of people that think the speed limit is 55. It doesn't turn to 55 until about 1/2 a mile or so further down route 7 towards Loudoun County Parkway.
How does one put in a request that the speed limit should be changed to 55?
I know in Ashburn Village, the Ashburn Village Blvd had a speed limit of 35 for about 14 years. Now all of a sudden it has been changed to 40 (I guess too many speeding tickets and people thought that 35 was too slow, although I think 35 was better than 40). That obviously was increased...how does that happen???

I think you would have to call VDOT, then they would do a study which takes forever to complete. After the study is finalized some bureaucrat needs to approve it, then implement the new speed restrictions.
