Need some help finding a top internal medicine doctor that may specialize in the diagnosis of rare or difficult medical issues. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

I know that several people in my family with difficult medical histories have gone to Dr. Robert Murrow in Springfield -- he is supposeduly VERY thorough and well respected. At least it is one name to start with!

Thanks for the help. Any others are greatly appreciated, especially ones affiliated with Fair Oaks inova (very close to me), GW, or other major hospitals. For a little background, she is suffering from something that is chronically and slowly debilitating her in most every way. She has be diagnosed with numerous conflicting issues, though none conclusively, and has known neurological complications that may or may not be a factor. She has predominantly been seen by specialists, but we are looking for a central doctor that can manage the issue as a whole.

Maybe try Carol Mattes in Fairfax...She is in Fair Ridge so very close to Fair Oaks. Good reputation. My suggestion would be to call several dr's and have a consultation. Good luck. (I know of a few in Loudoun County if you would like let me know. I am a medical marketer so I have some knowledge at least in terms or reputation.

Why is it always women who get these debilitating illnesses, that are not diagnosable, when we're supposed to be the stronger sex? Doesn't seem fair. I hope that she gets some help, soon.
