Default Trash Service in Lovettsville???

I just moved to Lovettsville (Taylorstown Road near Lovettsville Road) and can't figure out if there is trash service or not. I know it's a stupid question, but I have known people who have lived out this way who didn't have any and burned their trash or took it to the dump. My house is not in a sub-division (there is one about 1-2 miles down the road) and there is a location in the yard that was "bricked" off and it's all burnt inside. Unfortunately I never met the previous owners and they never actually lived in the house. Please help - I'm not sure what to do with my trash (I guess I could go down the street and ask the neighbors but I'm extremely shy).

I think (and I could be mistaken) that you may need to get a contract with a trash company to pick up your trash. I know in my subdivision (in Ashburn), our HOA has a contract for garbage removal-we pay through our HOA dues. In absence of the HOA, I'm guessing that we'd have to arrange for it ourselves.

Thanks. Yeah, that's what I can't figure out - who would be the company to call. I'm moving from an apartment in Ashburn so they take care of trash and I know that in some areas only one or two companies provide service to the area (at least that's how it is where my parents are in Annandale). I've been trying to watch to see if people are setting out cans for pickup but have yet to see any. Thanks again!

call the town of Lovettsville, they can tell you what company services the area. I'll bet you can arrange for Trash P/U.

We moved to Leesburg from PA and no HOA's it was up to you to contact the trash company and set up service. In many Non neighborhood areas people prefer to burn and take it to the dump on a monthly basis rather than pay the cost for trash P/U. (my in laws still do this...)

I agree with calling the town, or the county. I also live in Ashburn with a HOA and our trash pickup is contracted through it. As for burning your trash, depending on where you live, you may not be allowed to. There are also times you can't burn because of the weather. There are several large trash disposal companies that work locally in and around Loudoun County.

Thanks to everyone - I finally found trash service - I broke down and started calling all the numbers in the yellow pages and even when I did finally find the correct company it took them awhile to figure out if they did serve my part of Lovettsville!!!
