I fogot, but WHERE are these people in Spotsy commuting to?

DC/Dulles/Pentagon or PW?
That is a MAJOR long drive to Spotsy from any of those places, I find it hard to believe people can do that commute and not go postal.

These people are commuting to Arlington, Crystal City, the Pentagon, the Navy Yard, need I go on. Many of the newcomers came to Spotsy. because at the time they bought their home, they were priced out of areas closer to their jobs. Now however, especially with the increase in gas prices, the cost of the commute (both in time and money), does not necessarily balance out with the lower price of the home. Does that make sense?

So basically the immediate area outside DC, I didn't they would go to Dulles, way to far.
Thanks for the insight even if it comes from an evil realtor, no offense but the real estate agencies are really "in" with the legislatures to over develope Northern VA and as such am not a fan of them, I think is awful how they basically devour land without any regard for it's heritage or subsequent consequence simply for $$$$ and profit.

Get yourself a beater car that gets good fuel economy and go 65 in the right lane. Then it balances out.

I think the folks in Woodbridge are nicer than in Spotsy. I know that is not what one would generally assume or guess, but this is what I am finding.

I think people are looking at me a "wee bit" funny down here because my skin is brown.

Maybe I have to get used to it. I lived in Scotland of all places and never encountered this.

Life is grand in the good old USA. No one would ever stop to think that I vote Republican, was born right here in the United States, and work for the Marine Corps.

Just because my skin is brown from being half puerto rican and half white is enought to do the trick.

Oh well, if YOU have a problem with me, then it is just that...YOUR problem.

What does that have to do with the color of your skin? And I wouldn't judge Spotsy based on the people who have moved there in the past 10-15 years... If you get to know the locals, you should find the people to be very nice. Heck, I'd say 1/2 the population in the city of Fredericksburg is back... and up until maybe 25 years ago, most of Spotsy too... It's just these new people from the north that aren't used to diversity that can sometimes look at you funny. That, or the few huge rednecks that are left.

Well where I come from the color of your skin invariably had plenty to do with the "status qo" views on politics and the military. I think that applies to most of the country if you check statistics. So you think it's the northerners?

I get looks from little old white ladies and black folks alike. I have met some really cool locals though. I just feel a bit weird in walmart or giant.

My view is that it is a black and white locality, when your skin is anything else, and messed up by people in the country who fail to learn English, it can be a real pain.

Default the battlefields...

It is true, that the battlefields tried to slow the development.
They were going to build a "Town Of Chancellorsville" on Chancellorsville Battlefield, which i wish had been accepted, but the battlefields complained about it.
So now they are building homes on the land right next to and on the battlefields. But now they are developing on the OTHER side of the battlefields, so quite frankly i think it's going to surround the whole battlefield to where it will just give in.

I really don't see Chancellorsville Battlefield being there in the future.

Spotsylvania is a wonderful place to live though. The only thing you will probably dislike is the traffic.
