Loudoun County’s new homeless shelter was selected as a Green Building of America award winner. The building is one of the first environmentally sensitive facilities for the homeless in the country. It will also be featured in Real Estate & Construction Review magazine.
The dorm-like building, which opened on Sept. 28, has room for 45 people. It will also serve as a drop-in daytime shelter and a cold-weather shelter. It's near the Leesburg Airport, and it replaces two older facilities.
