Ive been to NoVA and can assure you that there is practically NO SNOW in the DC area. As DCguy03 said, there will be an inch of snow on the ground and everything will be closed and people will be hiding in their basements scared that the snow will engulf their homes. But, hey, if there was ever any snow even falling from the sky down in Utah, im sure the people would think its the apocalypse. Get educated

Well, maybe you could make a teeny tiny snowman. Or a snowball. The ground is warm, so most of the snow will melt just as soon as it lands. Most of the forecasts I've seen are saying it will be relatively light--but you never know, forecasters have been wrong before.
You just never know with snow around here.

Um, Provo, Utah has some of the top ski resorts in the country. So I think the Mormons there have an idea what snow looks like. But, to give you a piece of your own advice: "Get educated."

Snowing here (Reston) right now- 1-1/2" on ground, 1 or 2 more on the way. This happens a few times each winter. Sometimes we get dumped on with a foot or more by a big coastal storm, but that hasn't happened since 2003 or so.

I'm hoping for much more. It's so pretty! Sadly I just looked at the radar map, and there's already a huge "dry slot" working its way in around Charlottesville that pretty much signals the end of the accumulating snow. That will probably be here within the next several hours. My prediction is 4 inches total in Reston (wishing it was thrice that!)

If you're looking for foot-high snows, you'll generally have to head out to the MD/WV panhandles or at least the Blue Ridge area. Your prediction would typically signal a "winter wonderland" around here.

We made a HUGE snowman in under 5 minutes. The snow is amazingly sticky here! Thanks, Atlantic!

That snow was thicker than the sticky rice I get when ordering Chinese food. I had to give up on my snow brush and use my bare hands to clear off my car! LOL! The roads must be getting very slick now that the sun is down and the temperatures are falling below freezing!
