Default Photo Tour of Vienna

I walked around the Town of Vienna today and took pictures of the highlights of the town as well as typical houses and stores. The Town is split into 4 quadrants. Maple Avenue separates the north end of town from the south. Center Street separates east from west. We're going to start out on the south side of town. The first is a picture of Town Hall on Center Street. Right across from Town Hall is Vienna Elementary School, one of the original schools in town. It is currently being renovated with your Fairfax County tax dollars.

This is Patrick Henry Library on the corner of Maple Avenue and Center Street. It is the busiest community library in Fairfax County.

This is the Bowman Arts Center (the white building) just beyond the Town Hall on Center Street. Behind it is the Vienna Police Station (brick building). We are still on the south side of town.

Next is Waters Field which is across the street from the Fire Station. It is covered with fake grass. Baseball and football are both played here. You can see the Town Hall cupola and the Bowman Arts Center in the background of the first picture.

On the other side of the Community Center is the W&OD Trail.

As we walk up the W&OD Trail towards Maple Avenue, we come upon Whole Foods. I turned around to get a shot of the nice flowers and the sign.

Now we will can look at Maple Avenue (aka Route 123) and admire the traffic. Look closely at picture number two and you can see the infamous Vienna Inn - from the far left, it's the second shorter building behind the hanging sign. The buildings on the right are mostly antique and junque stores.
