Can anyone recommend a mover who will move me from Arlington to Fredericksburg, VA?
I'd appreciate it if people could provide me with a recommendation for a good mover who will move me from Arlington to Fredericksburg VA. I need to move on a Saturday, so someone who could accomodate that would be great. Thanks.

I'd say go on uship.com and list the details. you'll be approached by some and they are repute & u are safe since uship monitors everything.. if u dont know uship.. i'd say its more like ebay.. the whole process is monitored..

I've had very bad experiences with ALL of my movers because they always try to rip you off on the move day.
Make sure you have a contract specifying ALL THE DETAILS and the price of everything, including packing materials, and what they mean by the term "packing materials". They wanted to charge me $10 per roll of tape, but I could buy it myself, all I needed was their labor.
Ask for as big of a truck as possible because they will have to go back and waste your time and money.
Ask a friend to be there with you and supervise them because if there are several movers, they like hiding in rooms or in the truck and do nothing while you are paying them. My friend once found his mover sleeping on a chair!
Don't be afraid to argue when they try to rip you off. Oh, and don't use Craigslist to find movers - those who claim to have "professional" movers hire the men from the street that often have no experience and just need work. You could go to their gathering places yourself and hire them for much cheaper.

McCollisters has a good reputation and have been around. I've dealt with them many times and have had no problems.

I, too, have used JK Moving & Storage. They are not the cheapest, but among the most professional. You'll get a contract with estimate, etc.
When I moved recently, it was a short distance and I used Majestic Movers. They are highly-rated in Angie's List (for what that's worth). They were quick and didn't break or scratch anything.
Another highly-rated mover on Angie's List was Campbell Moving.

I used Carmack on two different moves and was satisified with their service and prices; however, it's been over a decade since I last moved.
