Default Alexandria City Phototour (West End/Landmark)

Well, I did manage to snap some shots of Alexandria today. This is really only the beginning and I plan to make some updates and add pics.

To start, let's look at Braddock Rd.

Old brick SFH that are common on the West End

One of Braddock Rd's many chruches

Minnie Howard 9th Grade Center

Bradlee Shopping Center

Stevenson Ave

Like I said there will be more to come.

Great photos! Brought back memories. I used to work at 395 and King Street approximately 20 years ago and lived in Arlington then. Really yummy desserts in the Alexandria Pastry Shop in the Bradlee Shopping Center. Smack, smack.

Thanks for posting these! I used to live near the Bradlee Shopping Center and became a frequent shopper of several stores there.

Well done! And it's especially nice to have photos of this area since so many people ask about it. Thanks for putting this together.

That's the way to do these photo tours. Start the thread, then add photos a few at a time. That way the project doesn't eat up too much of your time.

And if you live in Landmark's "Condo Canyon" you can easily walk to it!

(along with Safeway, CVS, Giant, and a host of other stores and restaurants)

Yep, I find that real handy when I need some batteries.

Just be careful trying to cross Duke St trying to go to Landmark. (laughing hysterically trying to think of a reason to go to Landmark besides the barbeshop )

Just a suggestion: Get some pics of those tiny shacks on the north side of Duke St. somewhere between Quaker and Jordan. I always found them interesting- they have to be the most out-of-place looking homes in the whole area.
