Has anyone ever contested a ticket they got at the metro? I was given one for parking in a reserved space without a permit...except the space isn't a reserved space! The officer clearly made a mistake and I have photos of the space I was parked in and everything. The only thing is, since I wasn't expecting to have a ticket waiting for me, I took the pictures the next day (when someone else was already in the space). Would that be sufficient enough?

I get to work pretty early in the morning, so I have my pick of parking spaces. I certainly wouldn't have used a reserved space...a lot of the non-reserved ones are closer actually. I've parked in that same space regularly before and since then. If I wasn't there, another non-permitted car was. I know that sounds risky since I got a ticket before, but that's how certain I am it is NOT a reserved space.

I guess it's too late anyway, but just wondering what others experiences have been.

If I had commited aforementioned offense, I'd pay it and shut up about it, but the guy made a mistake. I'm sure he didn't mean anything malicious by it - it was a rainy day after all.

Thoughts?

I wrote this long lengthy response and then it didnt post

My point was I've parked there for over two years - every weekday before 10. Of course there were a couple times that someone else beat me to it, but usually it was me. If someone beat me, they didn't have a permit hanging either. This is the only time I got the ticket. I doubt I've been getting lucky for two years.

Doesn't matter - I had photos and statements from metro employees and everything. All the cop had to say was "I don't believe she was parked there" and that quick I was found guilty. I guess that's how things work around here.
