Whaddaya think, is the rain this weekend going to knock all the leaves down? I'm hoping to enjoy these gorgeous trees for at least another week but I have a feeling after Saturday we'll be down to bare branches.

Oh well, at least the leaves on the ground look pretty, too.

I'm planning on hiking Sunday so I hope there's a few left!

According to The Weather Channel, we're not quite at peak foliage yet. I think there'll still be leaves on the trees in a week.

I hope you're right pcity. I was planning to do a Photo Tour this weekend while Herndon's at it's prettiest.

Oh I hope it stays a little longer. Coming from Upstate NY where we have people from everywhere traveling to see the Adirondack leaves I came here thinking I'd just see brown crunching leaves. Boy have I been pleasantly surprised. I love NOVA!! It is so pretty with the sun shining. (Ok granted we won't see that much over the next few days) I'm crossing my fingers for a little while longer.

There are so many fallen leaves at my complex that I couldn't even see the parking space lines today when I got home from work. What a dud of a foliage season! The leaves are just nearing their peak now, and instead of being impressed I'm feeling sad to see half of them are already on the ground. Does this always happen, or does NoVA have some nice foliage seasons on occasion?

A dud? Are you kidding?! Today, even in the cloudy weather, the trees were FANTASTIC! I've never seen so many bright colors. The mountains, and the valleys, are just spectacular. The rain didn't change anything last weekend, and I doubt it will do much this weekend.

Scranny, you need to get out more. I suggest a trip to Winchester this weekend. Drive straight out route 7 and you will see gorgeous mountains. The trees are just beautiful.

I agree!

The colors are great right here in Reston too. Check out this tree on my street.

I am more than impressed with the leaf color for our first fall in NOVA. I was driving on Ffx Cty Parkway Thursday and had to call my sister in Seattle to tell her how spectacular they were.
