My parents live in an isolated neighborhood near Scranton, PA and have already had around a dozen trick-or-treaters (don't forget some may still be coming late since Daylight Savings time occurs this evening).

We had about 150 kids this year -- down a little bit, but I think that might have been due to the rain showers. I took the kids out and we saw many more houses with decorations this year. Lots of fog machines!

To be honest i dont like kids anyway so no biggie.

Thankfully most of my prime trick-or-treating years, my mother lived in a SFH in a good neighborhood in Northern Hampton Roads, so I had some great trick-or-treating years. The best was playing ding-dong-ditch back in middle school.

To be honest halloween, will likely never be anything special for me anymore. I did volunteer to help with my church's halloween event last night and had a blast.

We had a lot of them but less than last year.

Alanboy - since you have such fond memories of trick or treaing from you childhool - it is now your turn to make it nice for kids -

I am suprised you volunteered a church Halloween even if you dont like kids - Halloween is FOR kids - adults are yesterdays news - you had your fun

We didn't have as many trick or treaters this year either. I'm guessing the rain (really more like a sprinkle) had something to do with that. We were done by 7:30.

If you have a ton of leftover candy, you can send it to troops overseas. Check the link below for details:

I agree. This is part of the reason why I'm even more depressed tonight than usual. I was hoping to help make Halloween special for some kids tonight by giving them a whole heaping pile of candy, and instead I just feel useless, sitting here playing "Eleanor Rigby" on YouTube as I hear the rain pouring down outside. Once you hit 22 life sucks! LOL! If I could help to make life better for kids then I really want to!

We had a good turnout in my part of NoVA, probably 100 kids or more. Mom handed out candy while I took the little one around, dressed as Cinderella, door to door. (Just to make it clear, *she* was dressed as Cinderella, not I!!) Now I'm sitting here digging through the leftovers for the Almond Joys!
