Question Does anyone know about the huntington area in Alexandria

Hi,

Is the area nice and affordable for graduate students? Is it close to the metro for the orange line? What is life like there?

huntington is on the yellow line on metro. the rt. 1. corridor which huntington is located has a few crime issues but nowhere near as many as DC/MD. as for affordability, it's as afforable as you can get considering its proximity to dc/md. you may also want to check out the west end of alexandria city. it's the most affordable area of alexandria and a little safer than the rt. 1 corridor.

yeah,
I'd stay away from the rt 1 area. I always wondered why our friend had us go Ft hunt (round about way to their house) when rt1 seemed so much more direct....until I drove it one day!
Listen to Alanboy...he's very knowlegable and lives in hte area!

It is the poorest section of a very affluent county (Fairfax County). All of the social services for these residents are also located here.
