Good luck!
I have to agree with you, my daughter struggled for 2 years after she got her Masters out in San Diego, she came back here joined a professional group, took part in their conference they had in D.C., met for coffee with some of those people in the following weeks which led to several offers.
It would seem some people in these groups are well connect within their field, they seem to know a lot of people and who is hiring etc.they are very willing to help others find employment, I was totally amazed.

What did you do as your summer jobs? Did you have internships while you were in school? Could you go back to any of those former employers or colleagues to see if they know of anything they could recommend you for?

try applying to NADA. Their website is www.nada.org. I worked there during my last semester. I worked in finance though, but they hired graduates with other majors too to the other departments. My starting salary (without a diploma) was $34,700.
Also, I know the salary is not as high there, but have you considered applying for a bank teller job? You could work there part-time until you find a "real" job.
Good luck!

Pizza delivery drivers can make decent money. Enough to scrape by while you're looking for something else.

Try Aerotek Inc., they are a head hunter for Architecture/Environment/Engineering. They helped me secure a few interviews in the environmental arena.
