Default Fairfax County Flu Clinic Open to All Kids Today

Today's H1N1 clinic at the Fairfax County Government Center (12000 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax) has been expanded to include all children, ages 6 months to 18 years, and pregnant women. According to the Health Department's web site, there is no wait. (Of course, this happened after I drove DD into DC for her shot this morning .) It's open till 5 pm. Here's their web site: Flu Information*- Fairfax County, Virginia.

I guess they have some vaccine after all!

They offered the 1200 of us FCPS bus drivers flu shots, which is nice of them seeing that we are confined in a tin can with up to 200 kids a day. The shots were to be given at the two bus garages this past Thursday and Friday.

After all the hoopla and back and forth of "sign-up" sheets, etc....Wednesday evening, they announced over the bus radios that the County was "out of vaccine" and to forget it....will not be rescheduled. LOL

I normally don't get a flu shot and I'm going to take this debacle as a "sign" that I shouldn't get one this year either.

If I get sick, I'll just stay home on the taxpayers' dime....

Yeah, pretty soon they will have so much vaccine they will be coming to your house to try to give it to you. It seems like it happens every year. First they get everyone all ramped up, they give some of the shot and then, OH NO, there's a shortage. They get everyone in a frenzy, there are lines for a few weeks, and then they have too much. Really, I'm just sick of it.
