MetroWest
That site has not been updated for a while. It still says that there will be over 2,000 residential units; the number was reduced to about a thousand actually.

You can see the rendering of the town center from Clark's site; it says on this site that the expected completion date time is January 2013 but that is also doubtful..

Thank you, Natthapol!

Mosaic web site has not been updated for a while, either -
http://www.mosaicdistrict.com/tour_site.html (broken link)

I also found this site, but while it has info on Merrifield, it does not have info on MetroWest.

Thanks everyone for the useful information!

I didn't even know there was WF in the area Although we live literally across HT, we prefer to drive to WF, which is 4 miles away from where we live now. HT products are not always fresh and the prices are the same as in WF.

Are there any nice parks in the neighborhood or walking trails?

I would vote for WF too.. The one in Vienna is good but the traffic on Maple Ave is always bad! I kinda hope that they would build something like Annapolis town center where there is a giant WF downstair or at least like the one at Foggy Bottom. It seem like the new WF is getting better and better.. ( a blessing for my stomach but a curse for my wallet!)

From MetroWest you can get to the trail in East Blake lane park easily and from there you can get to the Cross County Trail! A bit further north there is Nottoway park where there are some tennis courts. The community center will be built soon, there will be a gym but no swimming pool.

The models homes are officially open! I went there yesterday at around 3pm, but there were still many people.

The smallest model (Blake ?) was not bad. There were few concerns and some harsh comments before, actually in this post, but it isn't too narrow. My impression was that the kitchen space may be too big. It could be pushed back by 1 feet to give more space to the living/dining area (just a personal opinion). My wife told me that having no tub at the master bathroom could be a problem for some people.

The mid-size model (Stuart ?) looked nice. I particularly liked the open space between the second and the third floor. Nothing major to complain.

The largest model was not ready for showing. The floor plan looked a bit strange: we had to go up/down stairs to see the back yard, which was too small. We are not sure it is worth of additional $$$, but some people need a larger space. Maybe, our negative impression was just because it was not staged.

For all of three models, we noticed some minor issues in finishing details. For example, few kitchen cabinet doors were not aligned, and few windows were not properly installed (little gab). The upgraded materials in the model homes didn't look upgraded. They could do a better job in staging, to make it more beautiful like other new town homes. But, these could be relatively easily addressed/fixed.

Overall, we liked the mid-size model, and the smallest one was better than expected. So, what do you guys think about the model homes. Thanks!

Indeed, there were so many people on Saturday.. Anyone sampled their free sushi? We were busy painting our new townhome and noticed a lot of people passed by..

We did purchase the Stuart (mid-sized unit) and we are very happy with our decision. The open floor plan on the second level is the greatest feature of the house. I love the open kitchen, dinning and living room -- we are furnishing and painting the room and can't wait to entertain guests in this great room. The really nice thing about it is the space you have in those kitchen cabinets -- I can't find enough things to put in the cabinets! The open space between the second and third floor make it look spacious. We wish we have more storage and closet space though but overall it's just a fine townhome!

We are also surprised with the Blake (smallest unit) that it looks more spacious than 1,400 sq-feet towhome. It doesn't feel too narrow either. I love the fact that every bedroom has their own private bathroom. I can see why this is the most popular type of townhomes.

The Tyler (biggest unit) model does look very spacious (when I thought that I couldn't find things to put in kitchen cabinets in my townhome Tyler has more cabinet space! it also come with sizable deck and yard) but with the high price tag, people probably start to think whether does it make sense to buy an SFH instead? I 've seen some other Pulte homes where you will have to walk up and down to get to the rec room, I guess it's their style.

Yes to Nottoway park! Also, we like walking WDOT trail which has many entry points. Depending on where you live, you can either walk to it and then walk the trail. Or you can park at Vienna community center (there are a few parking lots around Vienna downtown) and then walk WDOT. Going east, you can walk to Cedar, then Gallows, then cross Beltway and walk next to 66 - which we have done a few times. Or you can walk west, towards Hunter Mills, Reston and further. The trail is nice. Enjoy! :-)

Yes to Washington & Old Dominion Trail! That trail always make me happy! Biking or walking from downtown Vienna to either direction is always fun and you can stop by Cafe Amouri for some great coffee, Whole Food to refill your energy, Sushi Yoshi for some Japanese food and those cute places on Church St.

By the way, there is one thing I noticed recently. For the Blake, if you look at Pulte 's quick move-in home on their homepage, it is said that the unit is 1,706 sq-feet not 1,488 sq-feet. This is probably due to the fact that the unit advertised only has garage space for one car instead of two. The downstairs was converted to a rec room. (If you purchase a Blake, you have the option to either have a tandem garage for two cars or convert half of the garage to a rec room). The same is true for the model home and that's probably why it feel much more spacious than a 1,500 sq-feel townhome when you walk into the Blake model home.

I suspect that there might be parking problem in the future if most of the people opt for 1-car garage and park the other car outside, I am not sure how will MetroWest handle parking yet.

We are seriously considering to put in an offer for the Stuart too!
Love the open floor plan!
