For anybody who hasn't had the opportunity...I highly highly recommend you go see the Trans Siberian Orchestra in concert. Just about the best concert I've ever been to. I mean the band covered Layla after the performance. Just an incredible time and for those of you with kids that want to learn about instruments, the show is one helluva motivator. Can't say enough about my two experiences...

My understanding is that retailers are deliberately starting early this year to make up for low sales forecasts. They believe that we'll spend more if we shop over an eight week period.

I love Christmas, but it seems like there's nothing left to celebrate by the time the 25th comes around. It's lost its luster. For those of us who like to celebrate the entire twelve-day liturgical season, it's a bummer when most trees and decorations get pulled down after Jan. 1 b/c everyone's so tired of it by then.

I'm so glad it has started early. I shop early anyhow.......I'm already playing the CD's in the car.
Because anyhow, its a big expense for just the month of December. I like to have the season last.
Putting up the Christmas Village and then taking it right down, is just too much work.
I like to see it linger awhile. Have the kids stand by it in awe.......
Then.......Dec 26th it can come down. Its just a special time, as always........and memories flow deep.

There's a townhouse in Kingstowne that already has Christmas lights up. I bet the neighbors are annoyed!

Target was putting up their Christmas stuff a few days BEFORE Halloween.. Not that I mind, Christmas is fun! Don't see any decorations up in our neighborhood, in fact some people still have their Halloween stuff up.

Where are they playing? I have c/d's - I just love the music but I've never been to see them.

I like seeing the skaters out in weather like this. Last year I went to RTC around during indian summer and the kids were skating around wearing shorts and hawaiian shirts. That's a cheerful sight.

Maybe he put them up now because he's afraid the snows are coming early. Wow, that's someone who takes the wooly bear seriously!
