Does anyone have any info on the Gunston Manor area in Lorton? It looks really rural on the Bing map. Is it fairly safe to be so secluded? How are the schools? My children would be gong to Gunston Elementary and South County Secondary/High. How far do you have to go for a good grocery store, pharmacy, vet, doctor? How would the commute be from there to Fairfax? To Manassas? How about back home in the afternoons? Thanks!

It's a great neighborhood. Very safe and quiet. It seems rural, yet is only 7 miles to I95, stores, vet, doctor, etc.. Commute to Fairfax or Manassas is about a half hour, depending on traffic. Great area, especiallly if you love the water. It's one of the only areas in Fairfax County that you have deep enough water to go water skiing, and the fishing is pretty good too.,
