I have read and read and can't find the exact answer. What is the commute time from Dominion Valley in Haymarket to the nearest VRE and then the commute time to the Pentagon? Thank you in advance for helping me map this out and get a handle on the actual commute time.

The nearest VRE is the one off Piper Lane off Rt 28 just South of the Prince William Parkway. A little out of your way from Haymarket. Not sure of the time on the VRE to the Pentagon.

To get to the VRE from Haymarket. You can either take 619 Linton Hall Rd off 55 to Rt 28 and turn left. Piper is up on your right. Or take 66 E and take exit 44 to 28 South. Piper Lane is about a mile down on the left across from the Super Target. There is also another way to enter off Godwin Drive at the DMV.

I hope you are going Blackhawk. Could be as bad as 2:45 house to cubicle.

Not sure about VRE but I communte from Haymarke to the Pentagon via OmniRide Bus.

I leave Haymarket at 0450, catch a bus in Manassas and arrive at the Pentagon at 0550.

From Dominion Valley to the Broad Run VRE station is going to be roughly 30 minutes, maybe more in traffic. My standard route from Dominion Valley to the Bristow area is

15 --> Old Carolina Road --> 55 --> Linton Hall Road --> 28 --> Piper Lane

but I don't if that's a good route during rush hour (just because I try to avoid driving during rush hour). Not that Haymarket itself has much of a rush hour, of course, but the roads through town are pretty small and it might get a bit congested during peak travel times. There are several route options available to you, though, all roughly the same length, so you could try a few and see what works best for you.

Once you're on the train, it's about an hour ride from the Broad Run station to the Crystal City station; not sure how long it takes to get from the Crystal City station to the Pentagon and your actual office.
