Your remarks are offensive. First of all I still go to springfield and last time I went it was not Mexico City..... There are people of all races there so not just hispanic people. Yes, the mall has no business and there arent much stores there but that in no way means that its run by gangs. Thats the most rediculous thing I have ever heard. I have no idea where you get your facts from or if your just making assumptions, but you are clearly misinformed. Dont be so ignorant, educate yourself a little.

Has it too drastically changed.
I rarely go to Springfield Mall since there are so few stores left. I've been doing most/all my shopping in either Kingstowne or Potomac Mills. Potomac Mills has the bonus of being able to get gas at about 15 cents/gal cheaper than in FFX County.

About a month ago, I somehow found myself at Springfield Mall one weekday afternoon waiting on someone. I have to admit that I was surprised at how few people were actually in the mall. From that, I suspected that the majority of the cars I saw in the parking lot were employees. In any event, for those familiar with Philly, the store selection somewhat reminded me of the Gallery in downtown Philly: in other words, a strip mall turned inward. But I did see signs of the pending (or proposed?) town center redevelopment so let's hope that does indeed come to fruition.

Just a quick update on a recent weekday lunchtime visit to Springfield mall: Although it will dissapoint many, it was not being overrun by gangs. There was a good number of people in the mall doing their shopping, eating etc. Came in through the Target and then walked to the food court so i only saw that side of the mall. The food court has lost the Popeye's and the Taco bell (the Arbys is still there!).

Looks like the businesses are still hanging in there. I've seen worse malls up the east coast and the midwest.

Many of <dingler>'s posts were offensive in the eyes of many, and to those folks at least, it is perhaps fortunate that there haven't been any such posts since August of 2007.

Mexico City is actually quite a delightful place. The biggest problem in visiting is likely to be shortness-of-breath for the first few days due to the dratted altitude. Otherwise it is a quite welcoming, energetic, and cosmopolitan city.

Some people have simply sunk into the ritual-like model of sensationalized fictional hyperbole that much of the US mass media has rather disgracefully come to exemplify in recent years or perhaps decades. Film at 11:00. Meanwhile, Springfield Mall needs work and will get it if the money hasn't all dried up.

I used to stop by the food court during lunch time at work. Sad to see that even fast food places aren't making it...

Up the East Coast? Heck just go up 395 and you have Landmark Mall just begging to be taken out of its misery.

Hate to hear even Popeye's and Taco Bell threw the white flag up. I think the mall has potential, just need other folk there with cash who think that too.

After reading some of the post in this thread, I came to the conclusion that racism is still a serious issue in this country. In addition, there are some ignorant people on this board.
