You shouldn't always believe what you hear. Fair Oaks Mall is still pretty respectable.

Honestly Springfield Target isn't that bad- I still go to it most of the time. Just some stuff I can't find there and end up going to Bailey's Crossroads.

I could have sworn the Borders in the mall closed. Was there one close to the mall that I missed?

On Frontier, next to Home Depot. In the same shopping center as Old Navy and Party City.

The Borders is over by Old Navy/Home Depot (outside the mall).

I've been running up to Springfield more than I used to. Sometimes I just need to run into Penney's (and it's a pretty nice Penney's that is just completing a remodel). The Macy's isn't nearly as good a Tyson's but it's getting better and the staff there has been excellent when you need some help. The Limited is also nice and quiet there but with good merchandise. Same with the New York and Company (much nicer than the one in Tyson's actually).

Concealed with a permit. Otherwise, it is open carry.

Actually, I think the Springfield Mall area's been getting better lately. The last time I was there I was pleasantly surprised.

They've finally started renovating the inside of the mall, outside of the Macy's on the second floor, redoing the floor and installing glass skylights. Slow going but at least they've started. The JCPenney looks much better too, now that their renovation is almost done.

Fairf Oaks Mall is a very nice upscale mall in a safe area - safer than Tysons - geez - Mayberry does not exist anymore
