What about a play on the "Hogs" nickname... although some vegetarians and Muslims might frown on the idea as much as some Native Americans currently do about the present name.

LOL, good topic and way to "keep it interesting". Sorry I failed at your instruction but alas, I'm not creative when it comes to thinking of fun topics.
So getting back to the topic, would changing the name of the Redskins bring them better luck? I doubt it, it didn't work for the Wizards. The Wizards used to be the Bullets. They changed the name as an anti-gun statement. Ironic considering the recent news, huh? Didn't keep Gilbert Arenas from bringing guns to the locker room.
Personally, I hate the name Redskins. Not that I think it's offensive, but because it has nothing to do with our area. I like team names that tell you something about the hometown. Redskins is a name I associate with frontier history, not with DC.
So I'd like a name like the Washington Beltways. Or the Washington Presidents. Or even the Washington Snakeheads.

Hogs would reflect DC culture, too. Lots of people here living high on the hog!
