Default Rec for good antique furniture refinisher in NoVA (or DC)?

As long as they can come out to my future home in Fairfax - we have no truck or similar vehicle. (Long story short - some antique cherry furniture of mine was recently heavily water-damaged and needs to be refinished. I'll supply the finish and all of that.) TIA!

I would check with A Perfect Finish on Prosperity Avenue in Fairfax. (703) 204-2009. They're located near BMW of Fairfax in one of the corporate office parks on Prosperity.

I haven't used this place but it was recommended to me for some furnture repair I need to do. I'm planning on bring my piece in, though - don't know if they come to your home. But you could always call and they might have a recommendation for you if they don't do it. It's called Looney and Sons: Looney & Sons Upholstery, refinishing, and repair - Home

Let us know how it goes, Alicia. I have a cherry chest that got damaged by movers. I've been meaning to get that refinished for 20 years. Maybe you'll inspire me to finally get around to it.

I have used them before as well, but not for refinishing. However, I've had two chairs and two sofas done upholstered by them, and a friend has had 3 chairs done. They've done excellent work and stand behind what they do, so I wouldn't hesitate to try them for refinishing. They do have a truck and can arrange pickup/delivery as well.

I will. Thanks for all the info on Looney & Sons, everyone. I might start by having them do one piece to see what I think... (I'll look into A Perfect Finish, too.)
