Went to Ray's tonight on Wilson Blvd. in Arlington for the first time. That was one awesome burger. If you've not been and are a major carnivore I recommend it highly.

This belongs in the local business thread.

I like the Big Buns burger across from Macy's.

BTW how far is that from the Ballston Common area? I may try it if it's close to my job.

Oh, you are making me hungry! Ray's makes a mighty tasty burger, that's for sure.

I prefer the burger at "Good Stuff Eatery" in DC near Capitol Hill. Not quite as gourmet, but a much better burger IMHO. Ray's seemed like it was trying too hard to be a fancy burger.

10 oz. of ground sirloin grilled medium rare. Chose the Diablo option which has a chipotle sauce brushed on before grilling. Only complaint was the bun wasn't quite up to the load. Would be even better if served on a sturdier sourdough roll. The sweet potato fries were great too.

I work right by Ray's and have enjoyed a few burgers there .. I agree with CAVA1990 on the buns.. Not quite up to the burger at times.. One thing I love about Ray's though is that they will split the burger for you so you and a friend can each have a half.. they are huge burgers!

Thanks for the tip! I'm always on the prowl for some good eats! Friends and I were just at O'Sullivan's in Clarendon last night where I had a very delicious chicken sandwich with Irish ham and cheese. One of the best chicken sandwiches I've had in quite some time!

Yes, Ray's Hell Burger is awesome! It's so great to live in a place where we can go support independent businesses like Ray's!

The metro area's culinary scene has definitely improved, seemingly at an accelarating pace. I just wish there were more happening in this regard along the Route 1 corridor. Everything down here are pretty much chains.
