Commute from Aldie to DC (home, bus, public transportation)

We are looking at building a home in Aldie and I work in DC (SE-Navy Yard). I understand the Loudon Commuter Bus will soon be adding a bus from Aldie to DC. My question is, what is the best alternative to commuting to DC? I can arrive at the Navy Year any time from 0600-0830? Thanks....

Wow....that is quite a commute. Is this decision final? It just seems like you will give so much of your life away to commuting. I mean we're talking 3 hours at least per day commuting.

Commute in NOVA/DC is scary.3 hrs in traffic everyday?Will this time reduce if more and more people use Public transportation instead of their own cars:-).?can we expect some relief to this problem?
